At NARA Solicitors, we are proud to share the story of a challenging and hard-fought case that unfolded in the early hours of 5th January 2025. Our client, a female international student from Haryana, India, faced detention at Heathrow Airport (LHR) after her entry clearance was cancelled on allegations of false representation regarding her language ability. The journey began at 7:28 PM on 04.01.2025, when our Founder, Sukhvinder Singh Nara, was instructed to assist the client. By 12:36 AM on 05.01.2025, the following had been completed:
  • Multiple email communications were exchanged with the Border Force to address the situation urgently.
  • A comprehensive representation was prepared and submitted to strongly advocate for the client’s release.
  • Telephonic discussions were held with the client and her relatives to gather all relevant information about her case and ensure accuracy in the representation.
  • The SOS Bail Application was submitted, ensuring every aspect of the case was addressed comprehensively.
After submitting the SOS Bail Application, our Founder, Sukhvinder Singh Nara, kept waiting & refreshing his emails to check for updates from the Border Force, keeping his MacBook and phone near his pillow. Throughout the night, he continued updating the client’s relatives, who were anxiously waiting in the arrivals area at Heathrow Airport. At around 4:00 AM on 05.01.2025, the client was released, a significant and hard-fought outcome. However, the case is far from over. The Border Force cancelled her entry clearance on the grounds of alleged false representation in the visa application form, citing her use of an interpreter during the interview. Use of the interpreter offered by the Border Force has been misinterpreted as a lack of language ability. We are now proceeding with an Administrative Review to challenge the cancellation of her entry clearance. We remain hopeful for a positive outcome as we continue to fight for justice and fairness for our client. Moments like these reaffirm our commitment to standing by those who need it most, ensuring that no client is left without a voice, no matter the hour.
