We are proud to share another success story from NARA Solicitors. Our client's Skilled Worker sponsor licence was revoked by the Home Office, putting their business and sponsored workers at serious risk.

After our legal challenge, the Home Office agreed to reinstate the licence.

On 27 February 2026, the Home Office issued a decision to revoke our client's Skilled Worker sponsor licence. A revocation like this can be devastating for any business. It means the organisation can no longer sponsor migrant workers, and existing sponsored employees may lose their right to work in the UK.

Our client needed to act quickly. Losing a sponsor licence does not just affect recruitment plans. It puts current employees' immigration status in jeopardy and can cause real damage to day-to-day operations.

Our Approach

Our team carefully reviewed the revocation decision and identified errors in the Home Office's reasoning. We prepared and submitted a Pre-Action Protocol (PAP) on 25 March 2026, setting out the legal grounds for challenging the revocation.

In our submission, we made clear why the revocation decision was incorrectly reached.

The Home Office responded to our PAP and confirmed that, after making relevant enquiries, the revocation decision was incorrectly reached. They agreed to withdraw the revocation and reinstate our client's sponsor licence within 20 working days.

This was a significant result. Our client can now continue sponsoring workers and their business operations are no longer at risk.

Key Takeaways

If your organisation has received a sponsor licence revocation, there are some important points to keep in mind:

  • A revocation decision is not the final word. It can be challenged through the Pre-Action Protocol process.

  • Acting quickly is important. There are strict time limits for bringing a judicial review claim, so do not delay in seeking legal advice.

  • The Home Office does reverse its own decisions when errors are identified and properly challenged.

  • Having the right legal support makes a real difference. A well-prepared PAP letter can resolve the matter without the need for court proceedings.

At NARA Solicitors, we handle sponsor licence applications, compliance audits, suspension, and revocation of sponsor licences. If your licence has been revoked or you are facing compliance issues, get in touch with our team.
