We are proud to share another success story from NARA Solicitors. We recently helped an air conditioning installation and services company secure its Skilled Worker sponsor licence, and the licence was granted just one day after the supporting documents were submitted.

Our client runs a business installing and servicing air conditioning systems. To grow the team, they needed to hire a skilled migrant worker. They had already identified the person they wanted to bring on board. What they needed was a sponsor licence, and they wanted the decision quickly so they could move ahead with the hire.

A sponsor licence is what allows a UK business to employ workers from overseas under the Skilled Worker route. Without it, an employer cannot issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS), and the worker cannot apply for their visa. So getting the licence approved was the first and most important step.

We worked through the application carefully. Our approach on every sponsor licence case is the same. We go through each document thoroughly and make sure nothing is missing that could put the licence at risk. The Home Office expects a clear picture of the business, and a single gap in the paperwork can lead to delays or a refusal.

That attention to detail mattered here. Towards the final submission, we double-checked the full application one more time. During that review we realised the business needed an industry accreditation that the client was not aware of. This is the kind of requirement that is easy to miss, and it can hold up an application or cause problems later.

We flagged it straight away. We asked the client for the accreditation, helped them put it in place, and then completed the application with everything in order. Catching this before submission, rather than after, made all the difference.

The Outcome

We submitted the application under the priority service on 27 May. The Home Office then asked for supporting documents. We provided everything that was needed, and the sponsor licence was granted on 29 May, just one day after the supporting documents went in.

The client also received one Certificate of Sponsorship, which means they can now issue it to the worker they had already identified and move forward with the hire.

For a business that wanted to act quickly, this was the result they were hoping for. Because the application was complete and the supporting documents were ready, the licence was approved fast and the CoS was allocated, so the path to bringing in their new worker is now clear.
