We are proud to share another success story from NARA Solicitors.
Last year, we helped this company secure its sponsor licence. That licence opened the door for them to hire skilled migrant workers and grow their team. So when they needed help again, they came back to us.
This time, the task was to secure a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) for a new employee they wanted to bring on board.
The company had identified the right person for the role.
There was just one problem. That person's current visa was due to expire soon. If the CoS was not allocated in time, the candidate could lose their right to stay in the UK, and the company could lose the employee they had worked hard to find.
This put real pressure on the timeline. A standard application can take weeks to process, and the client did not have weeks to spare. They needed a faster route, and they needed it handled properly.
The first step was to move quickly without any delays. We reviewed the client's requirement, confirmed the role met the criteria, and prepared the request so it was ready to go.
To deal with the tight deadline, we secured a priority request for the application. The priority service lets sponsors ask the Home Office to deal with certain requests faster than the standard timeframe. For a client facing a visa expiry, this was the sensible option and it gave the application the best chance of being processed in time.
Once the priority request was in, we expected a quicker decision. But the Home Office came back with an additional information request. This is something the Home Office can do when it wants more detail before making a decision. It is not unusual, but it can cause delays and worry, especially when the clock is already running.
If you are dealing with a sponsor licence or a CoS request and the Home Office asks for more information, the way you respond matters. A slow or incomplete reply can hold things up further. A clear, complete and fast reply keeps the application moving.
Our team acted straight away. We worked out exactly what the Home Office needed, gathered the documents and details, and submitted the required information without delay. We made sure the response was complete the first time, so there was no back and forth that could eat into the time we did not have.
Then we waited for the decision, but not for long.
Within a week of submitting the additional information, the client was allocated the Certificate of Sponsorship.

That meant the company could assign the CoS to their chosen candidate and move forward with the hire before the visa deadline became a problem.
If you are facing a similar deadline and need a CoS quickly, contact NARA Solicitors and we will look at your options.
