We are proud to share another success story from NARA Solicitors.

Our client, a care provider, had its sponsor licence revoked on 13th March 2026. The Home Office issued a letter confirming the decision. For any care business that relies on sponsored workers, this is one of the worst letters you can receive. Revocation does not just stop you from hiring. It puts your existing sponsored carers at risk and threatens the day to day running of your service.

The client came to us after the revocation.

We took on the case, reviewed it in full, and submitted representations on 21st May 2026 along with supporting evidence.

The Home Office fully considered everything we put forward. They then wrote to confirm that the licence had been reinstated.

What is at stake when a licence is revoked

When the Home Office revokes a sponsor licence, the consequences are immediate and serious.

Your existing Certificates of Sponsorship are usually cancelled. Sponsored workers normally have their permission cut short, which gives them a limited window to find a new sponsor or leave the UK. You lose the ability to issue new Certificates of Sponsorship. For a care provider, that can mean losing trained carers at short notice, gaps in rotas, and pressure on the people you support. The business can face disruption, lost staff, and lasting damage to its reputation.

In short, a revocation can affect your people, your service, and your future hiring plans all at once. That is why a swift and well prepared response matters so much.

Non-compliance can happen without you knowing

Many employers assume that revocation only happens to businesses that have done something wrong on purpose. That is not the case.

The sponsor management system is detailed and the rules change often. You can be acting in good faith and still fall short of a duty you did not know applied to you. Common issues include gaps in right to work checks, missing documents, record keeping that does not meet the Home Office standard, reporting that is late or incomplete, and roles that no longer match the original Certificate of Sponsorship.

These are easy to miss when you are busy running a care service. The problem is that the Home Office holds sponsors to a high standard. It expects you to know your duties and to evidence that you are meeting them. Good intentions are not enough on their own.

Why mock audits matter

This case is a clear reminder of why prevention is better than cure.

A compliance audit carried out before the Home Office comes knocking is one of the best ways to protect your licence. A mock audit looks at your files, your processes, and your reporting in the same way a Home Office officer would. It finds the gaps before they become findings against you.

If you fix issues early, you reduce the risk of a suspension or revocation later. You also build a clear record that shows you take your duties seriously. That record can make a real difference if your licence is ever challenged.

If you are unsure whether your records would survive a Home Office visit, do not wait to find out the hard way. Book a consultation with our team for a thorough review.

Why the right team makes the difference

Reinstating a licence after revocation is not simple. The Home Office does not have to reconsider its decision. It will only do so where the representations are strong, accurate, and properly evidenced.

That is where expert handling counts. Our team reviewed the full picture, identified the points that mattered, and built a case backed by the right supporting documents. We did not just argue the decision was wrong. We showed, with evidence, why the licence should be reinstated.

A weak or rushed submission can close the door for good. A careful, well documented submission can reopen it. This outcome shows what a focused legal response can achieve for a care provider.

At NARA Solicitors, we handle sponsor licence applications, compliance audits, suspensions, and revocations. If your licence has been revoked or you want to be sure your records are in order, we can help.
