Domiciliary Care Provider Secured Sponsor Licence with help of Nara Solicitors

The organisation had previously held a Sponsor Licence from 10 August 2022 until it was revoked on 28 October 2024. Following that revocation, the Home Office imposed a twelve month cooling off period.

A domiciliary care provider approached our team after facing a revocation of their sponsor licence.

The organisation had previously held a Sponsor Licence from 10 August 2022 until it was revoked on 28 October 2024. Following that revocation, the Home Office imposed a twelve month cooling off period. This created uncertainty for the business, particularly because they relied on skilled migrant workers to continue delivering care services in the community.

The company made a number of internal changes before seeking a new licence. They appointed a new Authorising Officer who replaced the previous officer and took responsibility for the organisation’s future compliance. The new Authorising Officer understood the earlier compliance breaches and took clear steps to ensure that the business was ready to meet its sponsor duties.

When preparing the new application, the company requested twenty four Certificates of Sponsorship. Sixteen of these were for their existing employees and a further six were for staff who were working part time with them and needed to move into sponsored roles.

Our team reviewed the history of the previous licence, the circumstances surrounding the revocation and the steps the organisation had taken since then. We worked closely with the client to gather all documents required by the Home Office and prepared a fresh application that addressed their current structure, staffing plans and compliance readiness.

On 10 November 2025 the Home Office requested further information. We prepared and submitted a full response on 14 November. The Sponsor Licence was granted on 19 November.

It is unusual for a Sponsor Licence to be granted so soon after a revocation, especially without a compliance audit. It is even more notable in this case because the application had been taken out of priority service on 13 November due to processing demands at the Home Office. Despite this, the licence was still granted within a short period and with a significant number of Certificates of Sponsorship approved.

For care providers, having access to the right staff is essential. A Sponsor Licence can open the door to skilled workers when local recruitment falls short. When handled properly, the process can give an organisation the stability it needs to continue providing reliable and compassionate care.

If you are a care provider or a business looking to hire skilled migrant workers, our team at NARA Solicitors can guide you through the process. We can help you understand what the Home Office expects, prepare your documents, and give you a clear path forward from start to finish.
