Key Responsibilities

Advising clients on a wide range of employment law matters, including unfair and wrongful dismissal, discrimination and harassment, whistleblowing, redundancy and restructuring, working time, holiday pay, wages, and TUPE related issues.

Managing a mixed caseload of contentious and non contentious employment matters from initial enquiry through to resolution.

Handling pre claim work, including ACAS Early Conciliation, engaging in negotiations, and seeking practical settlements where appropriate.

Drafting and negotiating settlement agreements, employment contracts, service agreements, staff handbooks, and workplace policies.

Conducting and managing Employment Tribunal work, including:

Drafting ET1 and ET3 forms, pleadings, witness statements, and schedules of loss

Representing clients at preliminary and final hearings

Instructing counsel when required and coordinating with experts and witnesses

Preparing bundles and managing case deadlines and directions

Giving clear, pragmatic, and commercially focused advice to clients in person and in writing.

Maintaining accurate file notes, time records, and case management entries.

Supporting business development activity, including writing articles, delivering webinars or presentations, and helping build relationships with referrers and community groups.

Staying up to date with employment law and procedure, including the ACAS Code of Practice, and sharing relevant knowledge with colleagues.
