Job Title: Legal Associate
Location: Firm’s Practice Address
Working Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: £31,000 per annum

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Legal Associate to join our growing immigration team. This role offers a unique opportunity to be involved in complex immigration matters while contributing to the firm’s thought leadership and client engagement. You will work closely with Solicitors and Caseworkers to deliver high-quality legal services and client care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare hearing bundles for the High Court, Upper Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber), and First-tier Tribunal
- Draft Grounds for Judicial Review, Skeleton Arguments, and assist with all court documentation
- Liaise with barristers, external legal professionals, and internal legal teams
- Manage detention and asylum matters, including immigration bail applications
- Handle a diverse immigration caseload, including:
- Sponsor Licence applications, refusals, suspensions, and revocations
- Skilled Worker visa applications
- Settlement and Citizenship applications
- Appeals, Administrative Reviews, and Judicial Reviews
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure full SRA compliance
- Provide legal support and draft client care letters, appeal forms, and relevant documentation
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders, offering clear advice on complex immigration issues
- Conduct ongoing legal research and ensure awareness of evolving immigration policy
- Write blogs, success stories, and legal updates for the firm’s website and marketing materials
- Assist in planning and conducting webinars and training sessions for clients and professional audiences
- Undertake any other immigration or legal work allocated by the firm
Additional Expectations:
- Be a proactive team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- Be open to travel for client meetings, tribunal attendance, and outreach events
- Be flexible to work evenings and weekends in urgent matters, including detention and removal cases
Requirements:
- LLB Degree, LLM preferred.
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in UK immigration law
- In-depth knowledge of immigration rules, policies, and procedures
- Proven ability to manage a varied and complex caseload
- Excellent legal drafting, communication, and organisational skills
- Familiarity with legal case management systems and regulatory compliance
Desirable:
- Experience with asylum claims and detainee representation
- Public speaking experience or interest in delivering webinars and legal briefings
