Criminals are known to impersonate law firms by creating fake websites, fraudulent email addresses, and fake social media or WhatsApp profiles. They direct unsuspecting individuals to these false channels in an attempt to steal money or personal information.

We take fraud very seriously. This page outlines known scams involving our firm's identity and provides guidance on how to protect yourself.

Known Scam Alert

WhatsApp Impersonation: October 2024

The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) has issued a scam alert regarding a WhatsApp account using the number +44 7721 863984 that falsely claims to represent Sukhvinder Nara, a solicitor at our firm.

The fraudsters have copied Mr Nara's name and profile photo. Any business or transaction conducted through the telephone number +44 7721 863984 is not undertaken by Nara Solicitors Ltd or any individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.

Sukhvinder Singh Nara has confirmed he has no connection to this WhatsApp number.

Our Legitimate Contact Details

The only legitimate contact details for Nara Solicitors Ltd are:

All emails from our firm will come from @narasolicitors.com addresses only. We do not use Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, or any other free web-based email service for client communications.

How to Protect Yourself

The following advice is in line with SRA guidance on bogus law firms and identity theft:

  1. Verify our identity. Check the SRA Digital Register and look for the SRA clickable digital badge on our website. Note: the presence of a logo alone should not be taken as proof. Always cross-check on the SRA's own register.
  2. Never send money based solely on an email, text, or WhatsApp message. Even if it appears to come from us, always verify by calling us directly on 020 4576 4977.
  3. Be alert to bank detail changes. We will never ask you to send money to a different bank account by email or message. If you receive any request to change payment details, stop and call us immediately on our verified number. Consider sending a small test payment first before transferring larger amounts.
  4. Verify email addresses carefully. Fraudsters may use addresses that look similar to ours with subtle misspellings. Check for errors in letterheads such as misspelled names or addresses.
  5. Be wary of mobile-only numbers. Our official number is a landline (020). Be suspicious of anyone claiming to represent us from an 07-prefix mobile number not listed above.
  6. Do not click unsolicited links. Do not open unexpected attachments or follow links in messages claiming to be from Nara Solicitors unless you have verified the sender.

If You Suspect Fraud

If you believe you have been targeted by someone impersonating Nara Solicitors, please act immediately:

  1. Contact us on 020 4576 4977 to verify any communication.
  2. Report to the SRA. Contact the SRA as a matter of urgency if you suspect a solicitor's identity is being misused:
